Improving Quality of Life for Students

Holy Ghost Boys’ Secondary School, Kenya

Located on the Nairobi to Mombasa road at Makueni County, Sultan Hamud is one of the most deprived areas in the Kenya.The climatic conditions are harsh as rainfall is erratic and so, water and sanitation resources are very limited.
Holy Ghost Boys Secondary School opened in 2014 with 48 students and is expected to have 200 by 2016.
Read the story of support the students and faculty of Blackrock College, Dublin, Ireland have provided this project over the past few years.

The project scope provides for the materials to construct 10 new pit latrines (see diagram below). Students and staff will provide the required labor. The existing facilities are pictured above

The beneficiaries of this project are the current 150 students and 18 staff members, as well as others as the school continues to expand its enrollment.

You can help them to finish the project which is vital to improving their quality of life.
