Spiritan Formation Community House Manila, Philippines

Pope Francis’ visit to Manila in January of 2015 highlighted the continuing need for religious vocations in the region. Realizing that the formation of missionaries in Asia is for the benefit of the Universal Church, the congregation is constructing a two level formation community house to provide a residence for Spiritans from Vietnam, Taiwan, Australia, Papua New Guinea and the Philippines will live while studying for the priesthood at the Loyola School of Theology in Manila.

Land was purchased in 2010 for this purpose and construction will begin in October of 2015. A project update can be found here.

The Spiritans Beyond Borders Gala was held on Friday July 31, 2015 in Houston to raise funds for this project.  More than $190,000 was raised and 520 attended the event that evening.
