Society of Holy Spirit Supports Vietnamese Formation

HOUSTON, TX – December 14, 2015

Board Members of the Society of the Holy Spirit, gathered together at Spiritan House in Houston for a special ‘end of year’ celebration to mark the Solemnity of the  Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary on December 8th 2015.

Fr. Michael Begley, C.S.Sp.,  principal celebrant, assisted by confreres, Frs. Joseph Nguyen, C.S.Sp., and Don Nesti, C.S.Sp., integrated a ceremony to inaugurate the Extraordinary Jubilee Year of Mercy in response to the Bill of Indiction, “Misercordiae Vultus” (The Face of Mercy) by Pope Francis.

Following some contextual remarks from Fr. Begley, and against the background of a shared prayer on the role our grand-parents, he facilitated a deep and  lively dialogical homily with contributions from all 10 participants,  focused on the generic theme of the family,  as the primary agent of mercy and reconciliation.

After the Mass, the group assembled for a lingering thanksgiving meal with a distinct Texas tone and flavor.
