Duquesne University Fr. Sawicki- Simulex 2015 -DU Simulex 2015 - 09:23 Simulex (simulation experience) Duquesne is a week-end long program held each spring. Through Duquesne University, the Spiritans provide an amazing program that brings awareness and wisdom to students who allow themselves to be put under pressure and tested. Their aim is to find the best resolution for peace. As Fr. Sawicki puts it: “The great value of Simulex is that it teaches the ability to make decisions in time sensitive manner in a very compressed period of time on very grave situations. At the end, this gives the students a sense of the complexity and difficulty of trying to solve the world’s problems.”

Feb. 5 at 4:00 pm, Duquesne University students and staff were invited to discover one of the “Faces of Courage” (theme of the Week), in Sr. Rosemary Nyirumbe (GLPA'08), who was named to Time Magazine's list of the "Top 100 Most Influential People of 2014,”. Sr. Rosemary, an alumni of Duquesne (Rome), told her story of helping to rebuild the lives of young people traumatized by the civil war in Uganda. More info at: www.ProsForAfrica.com
DuqTV - DU Campus Ministry Candy Bar Simulation - Fair Trade Week -DuqTV Candy Bar Simulation - Oct.31 2014 - Duration: 04 min. 20 s. Students are invited to take part in Fair Trade Week to discover how the campus community can support fair wages and the improvement of living and working conditions of small farmers and producers in developing countries. - One way to do so was with this Candy Bar Simulation that brought awareness about who is really benefiting when someone buys a chocolate bar and how the food chain is organized.
Duquesne University Walk for Water (Sun Oct. 2, 2014).Walk for Water '14 - 03:25 Poullart des Places' Day. Students were invited to join Mission and Identity along with the Center for Student Involvement and the Duquesne University campus chapter of RotarAct for the kickoff event to Heritage week, Sept. 28 - Oct. 2, 2014. - They walked to raise awareness on the global water crisis as well as funds to go toward a water project.

(CAR) involved in the Health Centres of Bangui. - Spiritan wise, CAR has just been given the status of a Province, this on Poullart des Places’ Day (Oct. 2 2014) and welcomed two confreres, an American and a French, to join in.
