Life as a Christian can face many difficulties. However, with trust in God, we can make it. Fear and worry can sometimes handicap us and take our focus away from God. Throughout the Scripture, we read about those who are called expressing fear. In today’s Gospel, Jesus says, “Be not afraid.”
Jesus sends us to share God’s news of hope to all people. As Jesus’ disciples who trust in God’s power to save our bodies and souls, we strive to live without fear. We know that suffering is a reality in life. Through it all, we know that God cares for us.
In today’s Gospel, Jesus knows how fear can overwhelm us. Jesus encourages us to walk on in faith without fear. We must have the courage to trust God and let it go. We continue to rust in God’s care for us.
God’s goal is to shepherd us into life eternal beyond our fears. God trusts in our ability to persevere. No matter what we are experiencing, God will never leave us. He knows everything about our lives and has counted us worthy of his love.
