In the Scriptures for this Sunday, we are all called God’s treasure. God gives us everything to claim us for His Kingdom. God’s mercy continues to follow us throughout life. Jesus affirms that God will never stop searching for us.
In Jesus’ discussion about the Kingdom of God, he is calling us not to put all our hopes in possessions but in God’s faithfulness. Seeking first the Kingdom, we find hope to face another day. Jesus uses parables to teach us how simple it is to ask God for understanding.
The Kingdom of God is nearer than we can imagine. As we discover a better way of caring for our neighbors, we find the Kingdom of God in our midst. We all must be willing to take risks to make the Kingdom a reality. This is not an easy process. This process is made less difficult because God is with us.
We must put our faith into action. Seeking and discovering God’s will in our lives is at the heart of our Christian journey. What are the things that we must sort out in our lives as we seek the Kingdom of God?
