Associate Theology Professor Dr. Marinus Iwuchukwu is one of four individuals recently honored at the annual Humanity Day Interfaith Banquet.
Hosted at the Islamic Center of Pittsburgh on July 13, Humanity Day recognizes members of the community for their work in strengthening the bonds of humanity among people of all faiths.
Iwuchukwu, who also serves as director of Duquesne University’s Christian-Muslim Dialogue Consortium, was honored for his work in developing respect and mutual understanding of different faiths and cultural traditions.
At Duquesne, Iwuchukwu specializes in interreligious dialogue, religious pluralism, and media and religion. He is the international outreach editor of the Journal of Interreligious Dialogue and teaches courses including Judaism, Christianity and Islam; Global and Cultural Perspectives; and Jews, Christians and Muslims in Dialogue.
A resident of Plum Borough, Iwuchukwu has a Ph.D. in systematic theology and a master’s in journalism from Marquette University, and a bachelor’s degree in sacred theology from Rome’s Urbanian University.
