Last fall, Anthony Rach of Troop 228 held his Eagle Project at the Spiritan Center in Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, where he and more than twenty scouts from Troop 228 renovated seven Stations of the Cross outside the Center.
Although the project was planned to last two days, they were able to complete the project after one long day of roofing, painting, reposting, and framing the stations.
Anthony chose to renovate the Stations of the Cross after talking with the Spiritan Center maintenance department about what projects would be helpful. The outdoor stations were in need of a full renovation and the project was conceived with this goal, as well as the goal of improving the landscape in mind. Anthony was visiting the Spiritan Center to work on another scout’s Eagle Project when the idea was first suggested.
Now that Anthony has earned the rank of Eagle Scout and graduated from Upper St. Clair High School, he plans to attend Allegheny College this fall. As an undecided student, he hopes to continue working in the community and making positive changes while studying his interests.
