According to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, “The reorganization represents years of planning, including numerous public hearings and draft models. The new groupings, along with new assignments of priests, will take effect in October, with the parishes to complete their mergers over the next five years.”
St. Stephen Catholic Church in Hazelwood, where several Spiritan priests are in residence, will be grouped with the following Greenfield and Oakland area parishes: St. Paul Cathedral, St. Regis, and St. Rosalia.

As part of this reorganization, Fr. Dan Walsh, C.S.Sp., who has been Duquesne University’s chaplain and director of Spiritan Campus Ministry since July 2013, will be leaving his position to serve in parish ministry at this new grouping.
Fr. Bill Christy, C.S.Sp., will assume the role of chaplain and director of Spiritan Campus Ministry at Duquesne.
The Congregation of the Holy Spirit remains actively engaged in supporting the Diocese of Pittsburgh to make this transition as seamless as possible, for priests and parishioners alike.
