Earlier this year, Eagle Scout David Coyle from Troop 228 built four picnic tables at the Spiritan Center in Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, and put down landscaping mesh and gravel underneath.
David and his crew also refurbished the firepit and watered all of the plants around the grounds.
David says, "This project means a lot to me because Mrs. Nestler, a scout leader of Troop 228, has helped me so much along the way to Eagle and she gave me the ability to work with the church on a project, and I could never turn down an opportunity like that."
David's parents remember the Spiritan Center fondly, as that is where they had their first ever pre-marriage retreat as a couple.
"I feel so honored that I could help such an important church and help the amazing organization that means so much to people," said David.
David will be attending Penn State University to study biological engineering.
Many thanks to David Coyle, Jennifer Nestler, and Troop 228 for donating their time to help the Spiritan Center continue to be a warm and welcoming place.
