Are you looking for a life of meaningful service? Do you want to do something that makes a real difference in the world? For Fr. Bill Christy, C.S.Sp. this desire led him first to the Marines, but he found it lacking in a way to express his faith. That's what led him to the Spiritans.
Transcript: My name is Fr. Bill Christy, and right now I'm working at Duquesne University. I'm the university chaplain and I'm the head of the campus ministry. Before that I've worked in Tanzania as a missionary and I've worked in the outback of Australia with the Aborigines.
My vocation story began when I was in high school I was looking for something that was bigger than myself greater than myself. I was looking for a mission. I was looking for a community of Brothers to work with. I wanted to be of service.
When I was 17 years old that led me to join the Marine Corps. That's how I was going to be of service to have a mission to be part of something greater. But it lacked faith and it didn't give me that opportunity to express that faith and the calling that I felt.
So that same thing led me to the Spiritans. And now I was able to have that mission something greater than myself be part of a community and to express that faith in the world to proclaim the Gospel. So that's my vocation story.
