While visiting the Philippines in January of 2016 Pope Francis called for the evangelization of the “great continent of Asia.”

The Spiritans have responded to that call for evangelization by announcing the construction of a formation house in Manila to serve vocation needs of the Philippines and five regional countries — Vietnam, Taiwan, India, Australia and Papua New Guinea

More than 500 people attended a dinner / auction with funds raised earmarked for the Manila Spiritan formation house.

UPDATE: MANILA, PHILIPPINES — June 23, 2016

Even though I’m in the US trying to raise sorely needed funds in order to complete our building project, the work continues in Metro Manila. Here are the latest pictures sent to me by our husband-and-wife architectural team who are also the supervisors of the work. You can see the columns on the second floor, the walls beginning to rise, and the electrical piping and plumbing everywhere!
