Sunday, October 24, 2021 is designated as World Mission Sunday. Spiritans working in more than 60 countries are grateful to participate in God’s mission to bring glad tidings to people everywhere. As missionaries, we help to animate the Spirit’s presence already in the midst of people seeking hope, peace, and joy in the Lord.
Pope Francis’ message for World Mission Sunday this year reflects on the theme: “We cannot but speak about what we have seen and heard” (Acts 4:20). He reminds us that, “as Christians, we cannot keep the Lord to ourselves,” as we “recall with gratitude all those men and women who by their testimony of life help us to renew our baptismal commitment to be generous and joyful apostles of the Gospel.”
WE CANNOT KEEP FROM SPEAKING ABOUT WHAT WE HAVE SEEN AND HEARD.
In January 2022 through Pentecost 2023, the Spiritans of the province of the United States will begin our
150th Anniversary Celebration as a province. Through these years of joys and struggles, we have witnessed and proclaimed the Good News of Christ’s love to people of every race, language and cultures.
While sharing the love and hope that we profess through our faith, countless people have been drawn to the love of God found in Christ Jesus. Mission Sunday is our opportunity to thank God for the opportunity to serve our sisters and brothers everywhere.
