This Sunday, we celebrate Rejoice Sunday. We rejoice over God’s great love for us all. We rejoice because Jesus did not come into the world to condemn us but to save us. God’s love covers us with his glory.
The fourth Sunday of Lent is an opportunity to reflect on our reasons to rejoice. Today, we hear one of the most famous biblical verses: “God so loved the world that he sent his only begotten Son that we may not perish but have Eternal Life.” This verse affirms why we should rejoice. It is God’s love that brings us together in Christ Jesus.
Jesus has come into the world to open our eyes to the fact that our sins can be forgiven. We are bigger than our sins and circumstances. This is Good News. It is the reason for rejoicing during the season of Lent and throughout our lives. Christ comes as a light in our darkness.
Standing before God in truth, we know that Jesus wants to save us. We find meaning in trusting the light that comes through Jesus. Whether it is the man born blind or the people seeking healing, come before God in truth. Where do we need God’s light to shine in our lives now?
