As a community, we are swiftly approaching the end of the liturgical year. The scriptures reassure us that God is steadfastly close to his people. With collective courage and strength, we must await the Lord's arrival. We are not alone on this journey. Beyond the shadows of doubt and despair, we all share a beacon of optimism and hope, a constant presence in our lives that reassures us and keeps us optimistic.
A friend of mine arrived in the United States for a winter visit and was surprised by the many trees with no leaves. Thinking these trees were dead, he asked, "Why don't you cut those leafless trees down?" I responded that these trees were not dead, but resting, preparing for the new life that would come with the change of seasons. He returned after Easter and discovered those leafless trees that now grew flowers and fruits. New life came to the dead in abundance.
The changing of time and seasons calls us to a change of heart. This movement also teaches us hope and patience as we wait for the coming of our Savior. We will soon enter the season of Advent. Are we ready to change and live in the newness of life with God among us? Let us prepare our hearts through prayer, reflection on the scriptures, and acts of kindness towards others.
By trusting God alone, we understand that a new world is born from the pain and toil we endure in our times. We should never take anything for granted. We are all a work in progress, and God is shaping us day by day. In this journey, we must not lose hope. Remember, it is God who is in control, not us. This reassurance should bring a sense of security and peace to our hearts.
We are reminded that the Holy Spirit transforms us through our unwavering faith. The old is rejuvenated, chaos is harmonized, sorrow is turned to joy, and death is reborn into life. This transformative power of faith, which is constantly at work in our lives, should inspire and uplift us, reminding us that hope remains a constant presence.
