Cardinal Dieudonné Nzapalainga, C.S.Sp.—Archbishop of Bangui, the capital of the Central African Republic—received the 2018 Eliasson Global Leadership Award on Thursday, November 15, in Mexico City, at ITAM, a private higher education institution. The Tallberg Foundation awards this prize to individuals throughout the world who stand out as extraordinary leaders.
The youngest cardinal of the Catholic Church, Cardinal Dieudonné was recognized along with two fellow founders of the Platform of Religous Confessions of Central Africa (PCRC)—Iman Omar Kobine Layama, President of the Central African Islamic Community and Nicolas Guérékoyamé-Gbangou, President of the Evangelical Alliance of the Central African Republic—for their commitment to peace, reconciliation and social cohesion in the Central African Republic.
According to the Tallberg Foundation, the winners are dynamic, courageous people and their interventions are rooted in the universal values of humanity.
