Having arrived at the end of my Pastoral Mission Experience (PME) in Perus, in the urban periphery of São Paulo, Brazil, I have begun to look back at what I did during my time here and what meaning it has for the future.
As we await the great feast of Pentecost, this Sunday’s scriptures remind us to wait united in prayer. Prayer is not a waste of time. The Holy Spirit will bring us the joy and peace that we cannot find in this world.
Fr. Anthony J. (Tony) Gittins, C.S.Sp. of England, a member of the Congregation of the Holy Spirit, died peacefully in Manchester, England, surrounded by his family. He was 80 years old.
