As we enter the Great 50 Days of celebrating Easter, we know Easter is not just about one day of celebration but a season of remembering God's love for us. Easter is an act of faith.

This year the Apprentis d’Auteuil is celebrating 100 years of association with the Spiritans. Blessed Daniel Brottier, C.S.Sp. was the first Spiritan, who came to Auteuil after Spiritans agreed to take it over.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held for Duquesne’s new College of Osteopathic Medicine on Wednesday, January 17. The school will prepare physicians to work in under-served communities in alignment with the charism of the Spiritans.

St. Stephen Church in Hazelwood, PA might not have regular weekly Mass, but the Spirit is very much alive. There’s a thriving Spiritan mission in the Hazelwood community, connected with the work of other groups dedicated to helping the area thrive. 

When war broke out in the Holy Land in October 2024, the students, faculty and staff at Holy Ghost Prep, a Spiritan-founded school in Bensalem, PA, felt convicted to “wage peace” focusing on Matthew 5:9 which says “Blessed are the peacemakers for they will be called children of God.”

Holy Week is a proclamation of our salvation. During the liturgies of this week, we encounter the suffering, death, and resurrection of Jesus the Lord. During these past 40 days, we entered the desert with Jesus through our prayer, fasting, and works of charity. Now, we are preparing to enter a new life prepared for us all. 

As we approach the end of the Lenten season, the Scriptures remind us that new life is possible from death. Dying to ourselves and focusing on God brings unspeakable joy to our weary souls.

This Sunday, we celebrate Rejoice Sunday. We rejoice over God’s great love for us all. We rejoice because Jesus did not come into the world to condemn us but to save us.

During Spring Break, Duquesne Campus Ministry is traveling with students to Detroit, MI/ Dayton, OH, Arecibo, Puerto Rico, and Houston, TX for Spiritan Mission Experiences.

On this 3rd Sunday of Lent, we can reflect on two seemingly different Gospel passages.

On March 3, we celebrate St. Katharine Drexel’s feast day. Her partnership, funding, vision and support helped the U.S. Spiritans find many of their early missions in the United States.
