The Texas Mission Council (TMC) Annual Conference was held at Mexican American Catholic College in San Antonio from February 21-23. John Boyles, director of the Spiritan Office for Mission Advancement, is on the TMC board with Sonia Harrison, who is in Lay Spiritan formation, and Spiritan friend Charles Murphy. Not only did Houston Spiritan Friends and donors participate in the conference, but they also helped the TMC Board with the planning and execution of the event.

 

The weekend was a wonderful opportunity to build relationships with other Diocesan mission office organizations in Texas, National Catholic Foundations and religious orders. The represented organizations discussed ways to collaborate and work in synodality to address the many local, regional and international mission and evangelization opportunities including co-funding and shared resourcing. 

Most importantly, it was a weekend of deepening the attendees' Catholic mission spirituality.

This Texas Mission Council Conference was a sign of great hope and inspiration especially now in our country. The work of Catholic mission and evangelization will continue in a world of great need.
